Rigid or vinyl
Rigid holders — hard plastic or acrylic — hold their shape, keep the card flat and are the better choice for anything worn daily. They survive being sat on, dropped and shoved into a bag. Vinyl holders are soft, lighter and considerably cheaper, which makes them the sensible pick for a single event where the badge is discarded afterwards.
Clear, tinted and zip-closed
A clear holder shows the whole credential and any color coding on it. Zip-closed holders seal the top edge, which matters outdoors or anywhere the badge doubles as a room key or transit pass. Crossbody and ticket holders take a wider card and carry it at chest height without a separate lanyard — common at festivals, trade shows and press events.
Getting the size right
Standard employee ID cards are credit-card sized, and most holders here are cut for that. Event and conference badges are usually larger, so check the listed dimensions against your badge stock before ordering — a holder that is too big lets the card slide and turn, and one that is too small will not take the card at all. If you are unsure, send us your badge dimensions and we will tell you which holders fit.
What goes with it
Holders need something to hang from. Most buyers pair them with a printed lanyard for events, or with a retractable badge reel where the card gets scanned all day.
